Job Description Job Function: 01. Utilizes nursing assessment skills effectively. Coordinates and completes patient assessment. Consistently assesses pain, using the appropriate scale, intervention, and reassessment tool. Monitors effects of medications and reports adverse effects. Assesses potential discharge needs. Assesses barriers to learning and functional status of patient. Age Specific Competencies: Encourages patients to report pain and to communicate concerns regarding pain management. Anticipate patient may focus on time constraints and concerns impacting lifestyle, family, work, and/or income loss due to treatment.
