We are also hiring for the November 2023 Nurse Residency Program starts for specific units.

The program targets the new graduate nurse or the RN with less than 6 months RN work experience upon application- the new graduate nurse that will have successfully taken NCLEX prior to the program start date. The Nurse Residency Program is one year with a 2nd year commitment.

Process:
Step 1: Enter your Resume, Education, Work history, Unit Selection , and Answer the Pre-Screen Questions. After this is received & reviewed you will receive Part 2 to-Video Record your interview with our provided- Interview Stream link.
Step 2: Your Application & Video Recorded Interview will then be reviewed and forwarded to our Departments.
Step 3: Virtual Department Conversation.
The Nurse Residency Program is a one year program designed for nursing graduates or nurses (RN) with less than six months (at the time of application) of nursing experience.
Upon graduation and obtaining a degree in Nursing from an NLN or CCNE state-approved program the Graduate Nurse will enter the VUMC Nurse Residency Program (NRP). The Nurse Resident will participate in the implementation of patient care under the supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse.
Nurse residents are required to be licensed prior to their start date. Residents that can provide official documentation of successful NCLEX results and pending application for TN RN licensure (or a state that is part of the enhanced nurse licensure compact) will be considered eligible to start.
Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Nursing to be eligible to apply.
Full-time hours 36-40 hours per week is required during the first year of the Nurse Residency Program.
This position requires Graduation from an accredited nursing program
Required: Cardio pulmonary Resuscitation

JOB SUMMARY
Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
