Nurse Practitioner - Better Future Clinic

The Better Future Clinic is seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in providing follow-up care for children and families affected by abuse. Our clinic serves as a safe, supportive resource for children and caregivers, offering a multidisciplinary approach to evaluation, treatment, and recovery. Our priority is creating a healing environment where children can feel safe and supported.

We work closely with the Iris Family Support Center (formerly Stop Child Abuse Now - SCAN) to ensure families are connected with community programs that address developmental, social, and mental health needs. Together, we provide coordinated care to help children and caregivers move toward a healthier future.

Position Highlights

• Conduct trauma-informed medical evaluations and follow-up care for children impacted by abuse.
• Monitor children's physical health, ensuring proper treatment for ongoing or unresolved injuries.
• Support mental health needs by collaborating with counselors and therapists to address emotional trauma, reducing risks of PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
• Promote developmental support by identifying early needs and connecting families with appropriate resources for long-term growth and stability.
• Partner with social workers, mental health professionals, and Iris Family Support Center navigators to provide wraparound care for families.
• Advocate for foster care children by serving as a bridge between foster parents and their foster children, ensuring the child's health, emotional needs, and wellbeing are addressed in the foster care system.

Qualifications

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner (Pediatric or Family Practice certification required).
• Experience in pediatrics, child advocacy, or trauma-informed care is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work sensitively with children and families in crisis.
• Commitment to collaborative, team-based care.
