Role Overview:
Supervisor, Patient Care RN – Substance Use Disorder as the Supervisor of the Substance Use Disorder unit at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, you will lead a dedicated team committed to providing high-quality care for patients on their recovery journey. In this role, you’ll ensure that nursing practices align with the highest standards of care and foster a culture of safety and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Patient Care Manager to provide leadership for the unit, overseeing daily staffing and ensuring optimal patient care.
Lead efforts to improve patient flow, bed placement, and transitions of care using cutting-edge technology.
Ensure seamless patient hand-offs between levels of care and actively involve nursing staff in planning and coordination.
Promote a patient-centered approach to care while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for both staff and patients.

Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter) • Must remain in original department/specialty • Must remain in original Job Title • Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
Minimum of two years of clinical experience, with at least one year in a leadership role.
Exceptional skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, and strategic planning.
Proven ability to effectively manage responsibilities within the scope of the organization and the complexities of patient care.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Required Certification/Registration:
Active California RN license.
Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
Completion of all competencies and certifications required for the Charge RN role on the unit.
