Overview
Riley Children’s Health at Indiana University Health is looking for a dynamic, strategic, and results-oriented leader to join their leadership team as the Administrative Director for Behavioral Health.
As a national leader in children’s health and Indiana’s only comprehensive children’s hospital, Riley Children’s Health is uniquely positioned to lead a statewide pediatric and adolescent behavioral health strategy that convenes statewide partners to radically improve access and make meaningful strides in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
The Administrative Director- Behavioral Health will be responsible for the long-term vision and execution of the Behavioral Health strategic and operating plans across the continuum of all Behavioral Health services and partnerships. In building out the growth strategy, this leader will be accountable for increasing market share by leading collaborative and strategic partnerships with program leaders, hospital leadership, and physicians. Through the Administrative Director's efforts, the Behavioral Health service line will become known as a preeminent level of service in the community and will act as a critical liaison for mental and behavioral health across the state of Indiana.
Key Priorities Include:
Increasing access to evidence-based outpatient pediatric behavioral health services
Expanding prevention and early intervention through a coordinated and comprehensive approach across services, programs, and resources.
Ensuring safe interventions for kids in crisis through a comprehensive crisis model.
Enabling the right type and distribution of inpatient beds for Behavioral Health needs, to ensure children and teens can receive timely, effective inpatient services.
Building the pediatric behavioral health workforce through a strategy to promote the training and development of current and future behavioral health workforce through innovative partnerships and care models.
Developing a comprehensive statewide advocacy plan that represents the needs of a diverse set of stakeholders from around the state of Indiana, to best meet the needs of all Hoosier youth. This includes building strong partnerships with schools and a focus on grant funding.

Reports to: Vice President – Chief Operating Officer, Riley Children’s Health
Key Relationships: Vice President – Chief Nursing Officer, Vice President – Chief Strategy Officer, and Chair, Department of Psychiatry
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required in business administration, healthcare administration or related field.
Masters preferred.
Experience & Qualifications:
7-10 years of relevant and complex experience is required.
Proven knowledge and experience developing, implementing, and overseeing key strategic behavioral health initiatives in a highly matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders.
Familiarity with current research on effective behavioral health strategies.
Strong data acumen capability with competence in leveraging data for quality insights.
Must be innovative and always seeking how to push the boundaries of behavioral health care and education while also possessing a relentless focus on practical application.
