Psychologist Opportunities in West Palm Beach, Florida with Veterans Affairs
You will perform psychological evaluations for a diverse population, including geriatric and post deployment combat Veterans, who are mentally ill and have psychosocial issues such as homelessness, unemployment, and poor family support network. Provide a full range of therapeutic interventions including diagnostic assessment, medication evaluation and management, suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention, and overall care of patients with psychiatric disorders.
We have the following positions available:
Primary Care Mental Health Integration:
The Primary Care-Mental Health Integration functions as part of multidisciplinary primary care teams, and delivers brief, consultation-based services to Veterans, primary care providers, and allied Patient Alliance Care Team members. Focus on general service delivery for a wide range of concerns and resolving problems within the primary care service context. Behavioral health visits are brief (generally 20-30 minutes), limited in number (1-6 visits), and provided in the primary care area. Function within fast-paced primary care teams and consult with 8-10 patients per day. Advanced Training in Primary Care Mental Health Integration/ Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine/Behavioral Health at the internship and/or post-doctoral level is preferred. Typically, Mon- Fri 9:00am to 5:30pm or 9:30am to 6:00pm; some days 8:00 to 4:30pm. May include 1 or 2 Saturdays a month. Telework: 2 days per week; 3 days at facility.
Suicide Prevention:
Perform psychological evaluations for individuals with mental health and medical disorders for purposes of diagnostic clarification and treatment planning recommendations. The evaluations employ a comprehensive diagnostic interview, review of available records, collateral contact when available, as well as objective, and cognitive tests. Provide a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including the use of psychological testing for patients. Provide a range of psychological therapeutic interventions with individuals with mental health and medical disorders utilizing empirically supported modalities. Typically Mon-Fri, 8am-4:430pm.
Requires doctoral degree, completion of APA accredited internship, licensure and U.S citizenship.
