Position Summary
Phoenix Children’s is seeking a family nurse practitioner or pediatric nurse practitioner to join the Section of Adolescent Medicine within the Division of Primary, Complex Care, and Adolescent Medicine. The Section of Adolescent Medicine provides comprehensive primary and specialty care to youth ages 11 up to 21 years. Our nurse practitioner will support the growth of primary and subspecialty services, especially in the areas of eating disorders, youth mental health, and adolescent sexual and reproductive health. Our nurse practitioner will also provide gender affirming care to youth consistent with WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) guidelines as a member of the Gender Support Program - one of the only comprehensive gender support clinics in Arizona. The program provides outpatient services geared towards supporting the physical, emotional, and social health of children and youth and their families as they progress through their gender identity development. The position offers opportunities for collaboration in clinical program development with other Phoenix Children’s specialties according to individual interests and focus areas. This position also provides opportunities for participation in resident and medical student training and education.
This position works in collaboration with the attending physicians and works within their scope of practice to provide excellent clinical care for patients. Plays a critical role in the patient family medical team. Professional who may practice in hospital’s inpatient and/or outpatient setting.
Education
Master's or Doctorate degree from an Accreditation Commission for Nursing (ACEN) and/or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited graduate school of nursing in Pediatric Acute care, Pediatric primary care or Family Medicine. (Required)
Certifications
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association or obtained by start date. (Required)
Current State of Arizona certification as a Nurse Practitioner or obtained by start date. (Required)
National board certification to match area of education. (Required)
