• In-depth knowledge of principles, practices, standards, techniques, theories and functions of psychiatric nursing.
• Executive management skills, mature interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of budget and administration.
• Ability to develop, implement, and monitor established policies, procedures, law, rules and regulations, guidelines and standards within the area of responsibility for clinical and non-clinical staff which influences management practices.
• Knowledgeable of The Joint Commission (TJC) Standards related to nursing and overall hospital accreditation as well as CMS standards and requirements.

Required:

• Current Virginia license to practice as a Registered Nurse or license eligible; multi-state compact endorsement accepted.

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (in accordance with CMS regulations).

• Experience in Psychiatric Nursing.

• Experience in nursing management, particularly supervising large numbers of personnel.

Preferred:

• Experience in a large hospital and/or psychiatric inpatient facility preferred.

• Experience in a large hospital and/or psychiatric inpatient facility with demonstrated effectiveness in management, supervision, teaching and consultation of many varied nursing disciplines preferred.
