Surgical Inpatient Opportunities:

Specialty Surgery Unit

Patient Population: Microvascular and Specialty Surgery: Reconstructive/Plastics, ENT, VIP, Bariatric, Oral Surgery, Medical Overflow, etc.; The only ones doing microvascular surgeries in the state; Patient Ratios: 1:4-5; 27 bed unit

Orthopedics (Ortho) Unit

Patient Population: Ortho patients from PACU, ICU, ED, and direct admits; Some patients come from all over the country for the Ortho physicians they have; Patient Ratios: 1:4-5; 40 bed unit, 70 staff

Trauma Unit

Patient Population: TBI, Wound, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Gunshot Wounds, Falls, Psych, etc.; Patient Ratios: 1:4-5; 42 bed unit, 80 staff

Abdominal Transplant Unit

Patient Population: Hematology, nephrology, hepatobiliary surgeries, auto islet cell transplant, living liver transplants, living kidney transplants, cadaveric liver, kidney, pancreas, and uterus transplants; Largest transplant center in the state! The first to perform uterus transplant in the U.S.; Patient Ratios: 1:3-5; 33 bed unit, 70 staff

Urology Unit

Patient Population: Urology, Colon, Rectal; This unit supports a nationally recognized colorectal surgery program; Patient Ratios: 1:4-5; 35 bed unit, 64 staff

Seasonal Commitment Information

• Full-time Seasonal weekly requirements are three 12-hour shifts for the 13-week contract (excludes 1^st week of orientation)
  • • $5,000 sign on bonus (½ paid @ 4 weeks, ½ paid upon completion)
    • $1,500 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive Time
• Part-time Seasonal weekly requirements are two 12-hour shifts for the 13-week contract (excludes 1^st week of orientation)
  • • $3,500 sign on bonus (½ paid @ 4 weeks, ½ paid upon completion)
    • $1,000 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive Time

Registered Nurse Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
• License/Certification
  • RN – Registered Nurse
  • BLS – Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)
