Occ Summary
Independently plan and provide professional nursi ng care for patients inaccordance with physician orders and establishedp olicies andprocedures. Provide nursing services to patients and families inaccordance with the scope of theRN as defined by the North CarolinaB oard of Nursing.Nurses hired into this limited benefited classificationw ill commit towork a minimum number of hours in a designated inpatientnur singdepartment. Compensation is a flat rate that is based on years ofexp erience.
Work Performed
Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing careutilizing the nursing process for pati ents in accordance with physicianorders and established policies andproc edures. Use professional nursingjudgment to individualize the plan of ca re based on assessment of thepatient's baseline needs and response to ca re.Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed andunli censed care providers.Assist other nursing personnel in the deliveryof n ursing care and actas team leader or charge nurse for a group of patient s or an entire unitas assigned.Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment ofcare including equipment and material resour ces.Participate in own professionaldevelopment by maintaining requiredc ompetencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriateassistanc e or educational offerings.Act as preceptor and support the development of other staff and formallearners.Participate in the identificationof clinical or operational performanceimprovement opportunities and inperform ance improvement activities.Perform other related duties incidental to t he work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within fiveyears of their start date.
Experience
2 years of appropriate clinical experience required

Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
