- Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando
- Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America
- AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country
The role you’ll contribute:
The Mission Control RN Tier 1 is a professional registered nurse functioning withing Mission Control in one of three primary roles. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: plan, prioritize, organize, direct and control all admissions and transfers between hospitals, departments and/or nursing units for AdventHealth. . The Mission Control RN is a highly trained professional with independent decision-making responsibilities, that must be applied based on telephone or electronic communication only. Utilizes complex acuity algorithms for time-sensitive medical events. Collaborates with physicians and departments within the Advent Health system as well as other facilities across the southeastern U.S. and internationally. Highly effective in critical clinical fact gathering and analysis, to identify appropriate levels of care, timely acceptance and specialty care needed for transport. Coordinates as an air traffic control for emergent and non-emergent transfers from all referring facilities. Acts as a liaison between referring hospitals, physicians, offices, and nursing department on issues pertaining to the transfer and placement of all patients. Proactively initiates steps, including utilization of the hospital and physician chain of command, to prevent EMTALA and Florida Access of Care violations.

QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications
- Associate and 2+ years’ experience
- Graduate of school of Nursing
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse
- 2 years minimum relevant acute care experience
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in computer database skills
- Proficient in real time documentation in electronic format
- Transfer Center experience
- Patient Placement experience
- Behavioral Health Patient Placement e
- Certified Emergency Nurse
- Certified Critical Nurse
- Certified Mental Health Professional
