Independently plan and provide professional nu rsing care for patientsin accordance with physician orders and establish edpolicies andprocedures. Provide nursing services to patients and famil ies inaccordance with the scope ofthe RN as defined by theNorth Carolin aBoard of Nursing.
Plan, provide, supe rvise and document professional nursing careutilizing the nursing proces sfor patients in accordance with physicianorders and established policie s and procedures. Use professional nursingjudgment to individualize thep lan of care based on assessment of thepatient's baseline needs and respo nse to care.Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other license d andunlicensed care providers.Assist other nursing personnel in the del ivery of nursing care and actas team leader or charge nurse for a groupo f patients or an entire unitas assigned.Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment ofcare including equipment andmateri al resources.Participate in own professional development by maintaining requiredcompetencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings.Act as preceptor and support the dev elopment of other staff and formallearners.Participate in the identifica tion of clinical or operational performanceimprovement opportunities and in performance improvement activities.Perform other related duties inci dental to the work described herein.

Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN program. Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are expected to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within five years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.
Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Must have currentor compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
