Job Summary: This a full-time, Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, tenure track faculty position in the Graduate Practice Program (DNP) within the College of Nursing. Responsibilities include clinical practice; curriculum/program planning; facilitation and implementation of innovative on-line teaching strategies, participation in learning intensives, and scholarship. The DNP Program faculty team teach in all courses and work together to ensure equity in course teaching and evaluation.Responsibilities include curriculum/program planning, facilitating and implementing innovative teaching strategies, clinical practice and scholarship. Faculty receive funds from the Office of the Dean each academic year to attend conferences to present scholarly work and/or support ongoing professional learning needs.The successful candidate is expected to relocate to Charleston, South Carolina area upon hire.
Minimum Training and Education:
• A DNP or PhD in Nursing, Masters in Nursing and a commitment to scholarship is required. • A familiarity with or interest in case-based or problem-based teaching is ideal. • Experience in psychiatric-mental health as a nurse practitioner with current advance practice experience of at least 2 years is required. • Experience in graduate online teaching methods is preferred, but a motivated candidate without teaching experience who meets the educational and professional requirements will be considered. • Candidates should be eligible for APRN licensure by the State of South Carolina and hold national certification as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. • Current BLS certification from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network.
