JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK�s cross streets is named in his honor.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Clinical Nurse Manager/Educator (CNM/E) is a Professional Nurse who will assist the Department Director in the 24-hour responsibility of the day-to-day coordination of and quality of clinical nursing care for patients in the Medical/ Surgical/Telemetry Units. He/she manages human resources at the unit level in a cost-effective manner and provides direction in changing workloads during crisis and emergency situations. In addition, the CNM/E will work with the Department Director in developing, implementing, and/or evaluating appropriate education programs within the hospital and assigned departments; these programs are based on identified needs, quality initiatives, patient population, and educational requirements of the staff.

�Ensures regulatory compliance with Title 22, TJC, and CMS
�Acts as a consultant on complex patient care
�Monitors and reviews results of performance improvement projects and assists in the presentation to the staff
�Ensures cost-effective use of resources
�Assists nursing leadership in evaluating program offerings with an emphasis in medical/surgical/telemetry issues
�Develops and implements hospital and community education programs as needed
�Demonstrates teaching/leadership skills using creativity, integrity, initiative and communication
�Demonstrates ability to use basic audiovisual skills
�Assists in maintaining current accurate records of all classes, courses, and/or programs offered by the Education Department
�Monitors the completion and updating of all competencies
�Performs customer service related actions when in contact with patients and families
�Assists in the management of staff, to include evaluations, performance management, and mentoring

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Current RN Licenses
2.BSN or Bachelor�s degree in related field; or, degree in progress
3.Current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider
4.Current American Heart Association ACLS
5.Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience
6.Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience �preferred
7.Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership skills
8.Demonstrated ability to present self in a positive and professional manner
9.Basic computer skills
