Linden Oaks Behavioral Health is seeking a part-time nursing supervisor responsible for the operations of the 108 – bed behavioral health hospital during the day, evening, and weekend night shifts. Working in collaboration with hospital leadership, this role serves as the onsite site resource assisting with directing and managing safe and efficient delivery of patient care services. Assists with patient placement, bed management, patient triage, and admission management of patient from referring institutions. Facilitates patient placement and bed utilization, providing guidance to direct care staff nursing staff in and timely admissions/discharges. Manages complex patient concerns and complaints. Ability to de-escalate situations and intervene to foster a safe care environment. Communicates with hospital managers to ensure follow up and resolution of identified issues.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Education, Experience and/or Skills Required:
BSN in Nursing or higher, certification in psychiatric nursing preferred.
Minimum of 3-year management/supervisory experience or a minimum of five years psychiatric nursing care experience or a combination of five years of experience management/supervisory and psychiatric nursing experience.
Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, management of patients with psychiatric conditions, and the use of psychotropic medications within all age groups.
Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills, CPI (or similar training).
Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) within 90 days of hire.
