Position is Full Time, Nights shift- 12 hour shifts ( 36 hours weekly )

The RN in the Oro Valley Hospital, Senior Behavioral Health Unit plans, directs, participates in and provides quality patient care for patients 40 years of age and older.  This 17-bed specialty unit is for voluntary patients only.

The RN collaborates with other disciplines including social workers, physicians, nurse practitioners, volunteers, activity and occupational therapists to provide optimal, integrated care.

The RN evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Performs and documents various patient assessments and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. The RN promotes each patient’s independence by establishing specific patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand both mental health and medical conditions associated with the geriatric population. Supports the patient in maximizing self-care skills and reintegrating into the community. Relies on knowledge, compassion, experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
