Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
Samaritan Daytop Village’s Residential Stabilization and Rehabilitation Addiction Medicine facility is seeking Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners to join our treatment team in Queens, NY. We are seeking Providers who are interested in Addiction Medicine (Suboxone and ancillary modalities) to help us expand our service offerings across New York.
Under general direction, is responsible under direction of a physician for providing general medical care, preventative care and treatment to patients is one of the agency’s clinics. This includes diagnosis, treatment, consultation and follow-up care. This individual attends to the patient’s needs with the utmost patient care, compassion and understanding.
Duties and Responsibilities :
NP will prescribe Suboxone to addiction medicine patients in addition to providing psychiatric care.
Assess health status by obtaining relevant health and medical history. Perform physical exams. Identify significant health and medical risk factors.
Order, interpret and evaluate laboratory test and other diagnostic studies to assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs.
Develop diagnosis by analyzing and synthesizing collected data. Develop a treatment plan along with the patients and significant others.
Prescribe and monitor medications. Develop patient education plans. Work with healthcare team members regularly to ensure quality patient care.
Master’s Degree in a Nurse Practitioner program required to practice.
Current license as a Registered Nurse and a Nurse Practitioner in New York state.
National Board Certification, preferred.
Valid DEA registration authorization to prescribe Buprenorphine (or willing to obtain).
