Director, Behavioral Health This position is responsible for providing leadership and management of the human, material and financial resources of the assigned department(s), insuring that the department and system Behavioral Health Services are in alignment with the goals and objectives of Lakeland Regional Health. Consistently achieves the expected results at the appropriate level as outlined in LRH leadership competencies.
- Demonstrates accountability for programs and services and/or organization-wide functional responsibilities within the system to support achievement of organizational priorities. - Coaches leaders and professional team members to create an environment that encourages continuous learning and development. - Engages direct leadership team to leverage talent, communicate a strong vision and mission and achieve buy-in. - Directs and participates in leadership team development, performance management and engagement. - Leads change by communicating a clear vision, influencing and motivating others, and developing relationships with key stakeholders. - Promotes and inspires a healthy and safe culture to advance overall system, team performance and service experience. - Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy, and adhere to HIPAA standards. * People At The Heart Of All We Do - Fosters an inclusive and engaged environment through teamwork and collaboration. - Ensures patients and families have the best possible experiences across the continuum of care. - Communicates appropriately with patients, families, team members, and our community in a manner that treasures all people as uniquely created. * Safety And Performance Improvement - Behaves in a mindful manner focused on self, patient, visitor, and team safety. - Demonstrates accountability and commitment to quality work. - Participates actively in process improvement and adoption of standard work. * Stewardship - Demonstrates responsible use of LRH's resources including people, finances, equipment and facilities. - Knows and adheres to organizational and department policies and procedures. * Standard Work Duties: Director - Behavioral Health Services - Understands Baker Act Law and mental health care regulations to ensure all processes within the inpatient and outpatient setting meet or exceed regulatory expectations - Demonstrates a strong understanding of the business fundamentals and drivers of the financial, service, and operational success of LRH. - Collaborate with the Medical Director to reduce LOS, cost per patient day and meet quality measurements by CMS/HBIPS - Actively support and promote a professional practice model that encourages staff participation in the development of clinical standards that is collaborative, collegial and utilizes current trends and data in professional practice (clinical and administrative). - Openly supports and consistently communicates mission of the unit/department and the organization. Serves as the staff and patient advocate to ensure optimal patient care. - Collaborate with the Associate Vice President to determine fiscal requirements of assigned unit(s), and prepare budgetary recommendations. Monitor the level of resources utilized in service delivery and determines the appropriateness of resource consumption in the service. Develop action plans to ensure budget and resource efficiency, and satisfaction with patient care delivery - Focuses on cost control, utilization management, and cost reduction initiatives. Meets budget standards as developed, including target census, target staffing, target flex budget and target cost per day. - Collaborate with the Sr. Vice President to determine fiscal requirements of assigned unit(s), and prepare budgetary recommendations. Monitor the level of resources utilized in service delivery and determines the appropriateness of resource consumption in the service. Develop action plans to ensure budget and resource efficiency, and satisfaction with patient care delivery. - Focuses on cost control, utilization management, and cost reduction initiatives. Meets budget standards as developed, including target census, target staffing, target flex budget and target cost per day.
Qualifications: - Qualified candidates will have a Master's Degree (in Nursing, Behavioral Health, Social Work, or Healthcare Administration) - Registered Nurse or License as a Mental Health Counselor or Social Work in state of Florida - Clinical specialty preferred
