Summary of Essential Job Duties: Oversees the clinical epidemiology and infection control functions for the medical center and manages a team of epidemiology RN's. Assesses infection prevention needs of the various units of the Medical Center and implements corrective actions or interventions as needed. Promotes compliance with infection control components of various regulatory bodies. including The Joint Commission (TJC), Department of Public Health (DPH), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). etc. through education of staff and monitoring of processes.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required: Masters Degree in Public Health or Epidemiology preferred
License/Certification/Registration Requirements: Current CA RN license: Certification in Infection Control required
Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in Epidemiology/infection control required
Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking) The physical ability and perceptive acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect job functions.
