The Infection Preventionist, in collaboration with the Director of Infection Prevention and the Infection Prevention and Control Committee actively participates in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the Medical Center’s Infection Prevention Program.
Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of five years experience in various specialties in acute care facility. Experience and/or training in principals of infection surveillance/prevention/control is required. Knowledge/skill/experience in computer technology is required.
Required Certification/Registration: Professional Registered Nurse, licensed by the State of New York. CIC (Certified in Infection Control)
Physical Demands: Walks, stands, sits throughout the day.
Working Conditions: Office environment. Frequent contact with most GHVHS staff. Ability to travel to and work at all GHVHS facilities.
