The Nurse Manager is a professional nurse who is part of the nursing executive group, participating as a member of the System management team. The Nurse Manager performs a critical role in formulating plans that relate to quality, cost, and outcomes of patient care. Management responsibility includes system, processes, materials, fiscal, and human resources. Supporting, counseling, and empowering the unit staff are key functions to interfacing resources within the patient care delivery model. The Nurse Manager supports and promotes policies and philosophies of the Pinnacle Health System in all daily activities. As part of a well-coordinated team, the Nurse Manager collaborates with the medical staff, administration, and other support departments to achieve the patient and family-care objectives. Recognizes and promotes Pinnacle Health System's commitment to meeting the health care needs of the community.
Clinical Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Demonstrates clinical competency in critical care nursing
Acts as resource on the Patient Care Team in the treatment and care of patients
Evaluates nursing practice on the unit to ensure the standard of care is met
Responsible for conducting leadership rounds on patients and staff
Non-Clinical Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist with scheduling
Assist with quality measures
Assures staff is following policies
Sits on several nursing committees
Conducts Interviews & hiring for department
Employee Relations within department (performance evals, mandatory education, etc.)
Current active Pennsylvania RN license.
Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience in specific specialty area with a sound knowledge base
