Under the supervision of the VP Quality Management Programs, provides infection surveillance, prevention and control activities throughout the hospital and hospital owned office practices.
Identifies, investigates and records data concerning healthcare associated infections and reportable diseases.
Maintains policies and procedures in compliance with CDC Guidelines, The Joint Commission and CMS Infection Prevention and Control Standards.
IP will participate in Quality Improvement Projects as directed by the VP Quality Management Programs to include Core Measures, Public Reporting, RCA, Incident Report review and investigation.
Serves as a resource to the community, physicians, all hospital departments of the hospital and physician hospital practices.
Bachelor Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required.
Must be CIC certified at time of hire or as soon as eligible to take the certification exams.
Must be certified within 2 years of hire to remain in this position.
